In guitar sheet music how do you you know which note is what on the guitar?

I know the lines are E G B D F and the spaces are F A C E and i know that there's many notes that extend on ledger lines above and below the staff. I just don't understand how to apply it to the guitar. like for example how do i know which A on the staff is the open A string on my guitar thanks
