Why can carbon bond to many elements simultaneously?
Answer is C. Carbon wants to have 4 bonds at all times. It isn't happy with 3 and it can NEVER have 5 bonds. It's not A because Carbon doesn't form ionic bonds. Carbon forms covalent bonds.
